RUHUA YOU, PhD, Vice President, Transmission & Interconnection

Ruhua is responsible for strategic transmission assessment and interconnection process management in target markets across the United States. This covers new market analysis and all transmission-related topics, including tariffs, planning, and overall interconnection process, as well as providing strategic, commercial, and technical input to the Development and Origination team to support project development.

Ruhua brings 14 years of electric power industry experience in transmission planning, system operation, and renewable integration. She was recently the senior manager of Grid Integration at Clearway Energy Group, where she managed the integration of multi-GW of solar and wind pipelines across the U.S. Before that, she was the manager of Transmission and Interconnection with First Solar, where she managed the transmission and interconnection process of 20+ projects across the western market of the U.S.

Ruhua started her career as a regional transmission engineer with the California Independent System Operator. She later worked as a lead consultant for several consulting firms, helping utilities and IPP clients with transmission planning, siting and interconnection, and compliance activities. Ruhua holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Montana State University.
