candela Projects
Candela develops utility-scale solar and solar + battery storage projects across the United States. Since 2018, Candela has completed development and advanced three projects to the start of construction, two of which, totaling 450 MWac, are in operation today. In addition, three projects, totaling over 2 GW, have been sold profitably prior to construction. Candela’s development portfolio includes 27 high value projects across five Regional Transmission Operators. Totaling 11.2 GW, the portfolio covers early, late-stage and operational projects, about 41 GWh of which are co-located with energy storage.

From 2008 to 2017, our team, led by Candela co-founder Brian Kunz, developed 38 utility-scale solar projects at First Solar, Inc. (and its predecessor, NextLight Renewable Power), representing over 5 GWac of operational solar capacity throughout North America. For over 15 years, the Candela leadership team has consistently delivered high quality projects, many of which have included groundbreaking engineering methods, pioneering transactions and innovative problem-solving.
