Candela’s Holiday Giving Program

Candela Renewables has an annual tradition of partnering with organizations and community leaders in our project areas to address local needs through fundraising efforts. Our holiday giving program allows team members and our extended ecosystem of consultants, lawyers and friends to make a voluntary contribution directly to these organizations, which is then matched by Candela.

This year, Candela is partnering with the South Lincoln Alliance (SLA), a non-profit based in Lincoln County, Kentucky, home of the 1780 Solar Project. This organization is dedicated to supporting families in need through local events, youth initiatives, and their free food pantry called the “Blessing Box”. Contributions will be aggregated and matched up to $5,000 by Candela. Donations can be made on this website, Venmo (@SouthLincolnAlliance), or CashApp ($SouthLincolnAlliance). Donations must be made by December 31, 2025, and reference “Candela Fundraiser” to be eligible for matching.

Approximately 2,000 households in Lincoln County, including 80% of the county’s public school students, rely on SNAP and other assistance programs to supplement their food needs. According to SLA, over the past few months their free food pantry has almost always been empty due to growing food insecurity in the region. Donations will be used throughout the month of December, and for months to come, to stock SLA’s food pantry. Additionally, SLA plans to use a portion of the funds to sponsor a free Ham Holiday dinner for 25 families in December, adding some holiday joy at a much needed time!

Last year, The Candela Holiday Matching Program raised $14,720 (including Candela’s $5,000 match) divided evenly between the Oakwood Food Pantry (in support of the Bar C Solar community) and the Pahrump Disability Outreach Program (in support of the Rough Hat Clark Solar community).

We know, from long experience, that our projects can revitalize communities through capital investment, increased tax revenue, workforce training, local job creation, supply chain and services contracting, and induced economic growth. Aside from these significant, community-wide benefits, we recognize that our projects can be a vessel for positive change through giving. We are particularly proud of our Holiday Matching program because it connects our team members and friends directly to those in need. A $5 or $10 donation, matched by Candela, puts a meal on the table for a family in Lincoln County.

All of us at Candela are grateful that our work creates an opportunity to be of service.
